The use of laser cutting machines in industrial products has developed rapidly in recent years, showing high processing talent and economy. Its near-infrared wavelength (1080nm) is also more favorable to the absorption of metal materials.laserpecker compact laser engraver Fiber optic transmission laser cutting equipment has the following characteristics: low running costs, low maintenance, no need for reflector lenses, no working gas consumption of the laser and low power consumption.

1. Why laser cutting machine adopts gantry structure?

CNC laser cutting machine usually adopts gantry type, cantilever type and intermediate inverted beam and so on. Among them, the gantry structure has become the mainstream model in the world because of its special structural advantages.laserpecker 11 However, with the development of laser processing to high-speed and high stability requirements and the advancement of control technology, compared with the traditional CO2 laser cutting machine, the changes are in the external optical path, cutting head and auxiliary gas.

2. What are the characteristics of the laser cutting machine process?

Fiber laser cutting equipment in the application of metal plate cutting, the optical path is stable and reliable, to ensure the consistency of the machine tool full width cutting. Usually can be configured with a focusing mirror with a focal length of 125mm or 200mm and a short depth of focus. In addition, the machine does not require external optical path protection gas, focusing mirror and nozzle need to be equipped with a protective lens between the focusing mirror to prevent contamination of the focusing mirror. Fiber laser has a good focusing function, cutting slit width is narrower (up to 0.1mm), suitable for rapid cutting of medium-thin plates, faster. The laser can be directly transmitted to the cutting head through the fiber, without the need for a processing system such as an air compressor. The laser is collimated and focused after it reaches the cutting head.

3. Why do laser cutting machines use helical rack and pinion for transmission?

There are several types of linear axis drives commonly used on CNC machines including ball screws, rack and pinion, and linear motors. Ball screws are typically used in low to medium speed CNC machines with small strokes; rack and pinion is widely used in a variety of situations. Additionally, rack and pinion is categorized into straight and helical gears. Compared with straight teeth, helical teeth make the transmission between gears and racks more stable and the meshing area is larger. In addition, it is also common for the gantry to be fixed while the table moves.

4. What are the characteristics of a bilateral drive for a laser cutting machine?

Laser cutting machines with gantry structure have two ways of movement: one is that the gantry moves but the table is fixed during processing, which is the common way. For large format, high speed and high performance laser cutting machines, the table moving with the workpiece is not suitable for high speed and thick plate cutting. Bilateral drive ensures that the force on the beam is balanced and the beam runs in synchronization. Some manufacturers' laser cutting machines use a gantry with a single side drive, and then transfer the drive to the other end via a long shaft, realizing a double rack and pinion drive and a single servo motor drive. The servo motor is mounted on one end of the gantry crossbeam. However, unilateral drive leads to asymmetric forces at both ends of the crossbeam, reducing the dynamic performance of the machine.
